The Ruta de Cafe is currently being prepared for tarmac, and depending on the weather and ongoing work some sections can be difficult for certain vehicles.

To make your journey easier, we've outlined the safest and most reliable routes below.

These are two routes from Las Terrenas:

Via Los Puentes - Fastest but extremely rough. Only suitable for ATV's/quads or buggies. Not recommended for cars.

Via El Limon -> Rancho Espanol -> Ruta del Cafe - Recommended. Accessible for  most cars and SUV's, through low-clearance cars may struggle are not recommended.
